Meanwhile, back at the studio, our team dives into a multi-video shoot for a local beauty brand, crafting engaging social media content for their upcoming product launches.

Workplace safety, but make it The Office. 😆🎬

In episode six, we take office safety very seriously… kind of. Inspired by the hit show, The Office, we created a workplace safety video for one of our clients that’s equal parts informative and hilarious. From brainstorming the concept to filming to bringing it to life in post, this episode gives you a front-row seat to the entire creative process. Plus, see how our team celebrates holidays and birthdays in the most Retrospec way possible.

In episode seven, we take you inside the making of The Onlooker — an original short film that dives deep into the complexities of grief and how it manifests in unexpected ways. From pre-production to final cut, this project pushed us creatively and emotionally, and we’re proud to finally share the story behind the story.⁠

In episode eight, we’re taking you from coast to canyon, with our first stop in Las Vegas, where we teamed up with gaming legend Tyler "Ninja" Blevins for a high-energy, Fortnite charity event at the iconic Esports Arena inside the Luxor 🎮🔥.

Then, we shift gears and hit the red rocks of Moab, Utah, for a very different kind of production — a cinematic brand video for Summit Financial. With our crew and a team of seasoned climbers, we scaled the legendary Castleton Tower to capture a story about ambition, risk, and trust.

“A film company? In Oklahoma? What kind of work do you guys do?”

That’s a common line of questioning that each of us at Retrospec Films is very familiar with. And the truth is, we might all give vastly different answers to that last question. Retrospec Films is a collection of people dedicated to the pursuit of motion art, in all its forms. We are Writers, Cinematographers, Graphic and Motion Designers, Actors, VFX Artists, Colorists, Editors, Grip and Lighting Experts, Photographers, Drone Operators, Social Media Content Creators —I could go on, but you get the point.

This series delves into the day-to-day lives of the filmmakers that call Retrospec home, and the numerous challenges they overcome. It’s about the personal growth, creative risks, and teamwork needed to succeed in an industry that often discourages such things. It’s not just about the victories, and award ceremonies, but the occasional setbacks, the last-minute curveballs and the flurry of chaos that a life in the creative arts can bring.

So “What kind of work do we do?” Like I said, each of us here at Retrospec Films could give vastly different answers. And this series is mine.
