During the development of White Invitation, I found myself inspired by my love for mysterious and suspenseful stories. I took the time to carefully analyze my favorite films and TV shows, and figure out what specific elements made them enjoyable and memorable experiences. A key takeaway from this was my preference for movies and shows that continuously keep me guessing about the unfolding plot and the unexpected surprises. I wanted White Invitation to embody those same elements that make a story truly compelling.
Once Tayler and I finished developing the main story outline, we were able to comb through it and really get into the nitty gritty parts of development. Only then were we able connect all the dots and elements that helped tie the story together.
As script supervisor on set, it was tough to keep the daily shot list in order since we filmed the whole movie out of sequence, with the story jumping between the early 90s and present day. I dedicated a lot of time in pre-production creating my "White Invitation" folder to make sure we captured all the shots. That folder was essential throughout our 4 days of filming.
