Episode 4: Reasors holiday
In episode four, we bring Reasor's brand video to life! From creative development to an early morning call time, match-action shots, and an unexpected team curveball, see how we captured the joy of shopping local all year long.
Reasor’s wanted a holiday commercial that showcases their exceptional customer service and their ability to provide everything shoppers need for the season. They envisioned a spot that could work for both Thanksgiving and Christmas, portraying the store as a warm, welcoming place—a happy haven for customers during the holidays.
My family shops at Reasor’s, and one of the things I love is how, over time, you start to recognize the employees and develop a familiar shopping routine. I wanted to capture that sense of consistency and connection in our main shopper’s experience, showing that she repeatedly chooses Reasor’s and always has a great visit.
The challenge with this project was capturing the passage of time, the holiday spirit, and that beautifully warm, inviting atmosphere, all within just 30 seconds. Balancing these elements while keeping the story clear and seamless was key to making the spot feel visually compelling and sentimental for the holidays.
Having creative clarity on the front end, through a well-thought-out storyboard and animatic, allowed us to develop a clear plan of attack for the shoot. This preparation gave Jacob, our DP, the foresight to carefully frame each shot and ensure the match-action transitions worked. It also helped us select the right props and wardrobe to reinforce the storytelling, making the passage of time and holiday elements feel natural and cohesive.
It was exciting to explore a new storytelling style with Reasor’s. This project felt intentional and creative, making it especially fun for our team to bring to life. If you’ve watched the BTS series, you know I couldn’t be there on shoot day due to an injury—but because our team was so dialed in on the vision, they executed it flawlessly. That made me incredibly proud!
